It is a water soluble compound which is most commonly utilized as fertilizer and also finds application as a fire retardant. Appears as white colored powder, it has melting point of 155 degrees Celsius and shows insolubility with alcohol & liquid ammonia. In winemaking, Diammonium Phosphate is used as yeast nutrient and as flux for tin soldering.
